archer fish diet?

In my experience archers tend to only dine at the surface, so I'd suggest trying to feed it live crickets or meal/superworms depending on the size of the fish. I generally buy one of those plastic tubs of mealworms and throw in a bit of carrot for the worms to snack on and get moisture from.

I have had archers eat all sorts of insects ,earth worms,shrimp/prawns,white bait(fish),even ate cooked peas and corn and flake food.

I have never succeed in feeding pellets to my archer fish, they only seem to respond to live food that wriggles in the water. Mealworms, crickets and other insects that you can get from the pet store is usually sufficient.

it basically depends on the size of your archer.
if you are keeping small size 1-2 inch, meal worm or blood worms would be ok.
if you are keeping them in an open area like a pond and stuff,
look for empty spider webs.
chances are that your archers have shot down the spiders and consumed them.
mine feed on small spiders and meal worm and at times frozen blood worm.

when your archers have stabled down, try to catch a small spider and dangle it above the archer.
you would see it try to shoot down the spider, if it keep missing, try to lower it or drop it in the water.
your archer would usually consume it directly.
