Putting together a 120 gallon 48x24x24 tank with a three foot tall enclosed canopy above the tank to make a hunting tank for a shoal of archers and was curious about the MFK opinion on stocking numbers for such a tank. I was hoping for a shoal of six archers and still have some room for some fiddlers, a mudskipper, and perhaps either a small flounder or some cats. Tank is of coarse going to be brackish at around 1.004 to 1.006 sg. Do you folks think this would work?

Should be fine. I keep 16 archers in a 120g high with dats and other perch.

Thanks for the help guys. Was putting pencil to paper trying to design a stand with a enclosed canopy 3 foot tall over the tank...Can't figure out how to get the supports from the ground to the canopy to keep the weight off the tank glass without looking tacky. The canopy is going to be 2.5 feet tall and enclosed with glass on the front. I figure with the glass front, all the wood, and the light fixtures on top it will wiegh too much to have all that wieght sitting on the tank glass. Don't want to risk doing that and cracking the glass.

Do any of you have any design suggestions to get supports from the floor the canopy?

Was going to make the stand 2 foot tall, tank 2 feet tall, and the canopy 2.5 feet tall. Been working on the design using grid paper...havn't hit anything I like yet.

Any tips would help.
