archer with missing scales

I got an archer about a month ago. When I got him he was in a tank with another archer a blue arrow. and some blood parrots (obviously not being kept in brackish). He was missing a couple scales on the top of his head but nothing big. Since Ive had him Ive put him in a brackish tank and kept him alone. Im having trouble getting him to eat anything other then feeders and the hole just keeps getting bigger instead of smaller. He seems to be doing well and has even gained size but this is really starting to bug me.

my archers will also eat sinking shrimp pellets but you have to hold them on top of the water and eventually they will eat them out of your hand. just my 2cents.

I would start raising the salinity a bit, to 1.004-.006 for now, and dosing with aquarium salt and melafix.

That should do the trick.
