Would my archers be compatible with a green spotted puffer.

My green spot puffer was the very last addition to my archer/ brackish community tank. So far they are doing fine together but we will see. I think it depends on the individual fish, size differences and environment. I say try it but have a back-up plan(tank) if they don't get along

Not sure exactly how brackish Archers are, but GSP will eventually require full marine / high brackish when fully grown... not to mention they are known to be evil little bastards... so as fishtex said, have a backup plan just incase...

The most common archers that you find, Toxotes jaculatrix, are brackish fish, and may be able to take high-end bracksh/marine water for limited amounts of time. However, a GSP will fare fine in high-end brackish as an adult.

I just must caution though that your tank should be really spacious - for one, archers grow big and are active schooling fish, so a big tank will be needed for that. Another reason for a big tank in this case is because GSPs may attempt to nip the archers... in a bigger tank, however, as soon as the GSP goes for one of them, they have plenty of room to get away. It worked well for me. :)

Good luck

:iagree::iagree::iagree: Couldnt agree more, adopt this rule with pretty much any combination you try, within reason (obviousy some things just cant be done) a lot of different combinations of fish that people advise strongly against have been managed, simply because all fish are different and act differently in different tanks. You cant be sure whats going to happen, but as long as you watch closely, and have a backup tank to move the fish into if problems do occur then you will be fine.

How big is the tank?
