My lfs has a bunch of mudskippers and archers in their brackish section. I have been eyeballing both of them for some time. Can they go together in a paludium tank? I hear that the mudskipper may not even go into the water if there are archers there. Any ideas?

What size tank should either one of them be housed in?

It might help if you find out the latin names for both. That way we can establish the size that they will grow to.
It's possible to keep them in the same tank but it helps if they are of a similar size when you get them due to the fact archers will eat almost anything lol.
Get the latin names and we'll get some more info.

Depends on the kind of skipper.

Africans (the large kind - growing up to 7") should be just fine. Best if the Archers are young. Also, depends on the tank size.

If you have a normal large tank and just have a floating platform, or are able to make a section of the tank (top only) ground again, with a larger section of floating platform, should be just fine.

I had a mudskipper no problem with archers. Then unfortunately I added young mons and stats and I think they did him in :(

I was originally thinking of using a 20g tank, but I'm thinking that will be too small. I will have to call the lfs to see exactly what kind of mudskipper they are. I was hoping to have them together in a paludium tank. One know, mudskippers hanging out on the shore with some archers shooting down crickets in the branches. But I know that would mean another larger tank and I think I just pushed my limits right now - or at least until I buy my wife something really nice!

Depending on the type of mudskipper, a 20 wouldn't be bad.

However, you wouldn't be able to fit an archer in there unfortunately :(

haha Remember, diamond earrings equals like 50 gallons or something... I forget the math on that :)
