I saw this cichlids for sale here. I was thinking of getting one but Fear that I may already be overstocked. I have the following tanks whose occupants can be moved around:

35G: 2 male convict, 2 unsexed jewel cichlid, 1 rainbow shark
15G #1: 1 female convict, 6 tiger barbs
15G #2: 1 convict pair

Will getting one or two Centrarchus be pushing it too much?
Any suggestions on how can I make this work?

Males can get pretty big - around 8". You may be able to do a pair in the 35, but I think it would be tight with any other fish. My pair recently spawned in my 180, and they easily occupy about 1/4 of the tank protecting their nest.

Is that your cenctrarchus in your avatar? It looks so awesome!:drool:

Oh I don't want it killing my male cons as they are part of a breeding project I'm working on. Maybe I will just buy 1 male centrarchus and rearrange my fishes to something like this:

35G: 1 male Centrarchus + 2 female con + 6 Tiger barbs + 2 jewel
15G #1: 2 male cons
15G #2: 1 male con

Two male cons will be removed later on after I choose which of them will I breed with one of the females. And maybe the red jewels to if things get too crowded

So in the end, the tanks will probably be set-up like this:
35G: 1 male Centrarchus, 2 female cons , 6 tiger barbs, + 2 jewel
15G #1: 1 male con;
15G #2: love tank and fry nursery

It's really hard for me to let the centrarchus pass because hey are hard to come by here. If I let this batch pass, I may not see them again available for up to a year.
