I was just wondering if Albino Birchirs are blind or not. He seems to know when I feed and comes up to the water but misses all the food. I placed some sinking food in the tank and it seems like he is "sniffing" to find the food but many times swims past it. I have only had him for a week now and have not really noticed if he has been eating so I observed him today. Also the other fish in the tank are fast eaters so how can I make sure the birchir is getting enough food?

They do have poor eyes sight. Try feeding at night when the lights are off. My bichir miss too sometime depend on how hungry they are some are more aggressive when it come to eating. I got a few bichirs that will catch the food before it hit the bottom if it drop right over top of there head.

I just noticed I did a major spelling fail. :( lol Thank you for the responses. I fed him not to long ago and I did see him eating. I put algae wafers in and had to break it in half because it was too big to get down. I cant wait until Friday comes! I been wanting to buy some super worms and meal worms. I also need to stock up on some blood worms. Also what is the preparation for beef hearts? Do I just cut them them into small chunks and then freeze it? Sorry for all the questions. I want to give them a good diet.

A buddy of mine has an albino sen and he actually beats the other sens and dels to the food, and even chases them off! he is a very aggressive eater. I dont think he sees well though, just smells quicker than the others. Good luck with him though!
