Was wondering if all the ceramic rings were basically the same? Looking to get some more bio rings for my cannister and was wondering if i could just buy some generic ones. Right now im just using some biomax rings from fluval. If there all the same i would love to save a few bucks. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

I use the ones sold by a vendor here called Charlie and the Fish Tank Factory. They are extra large and a great price. Bare in mind I ordered about 180 lbs of ceramic rings from him...
There are two basic kinds of rings ...ceramic which are porous but not as much as sintered glass (fluval biomax etc) The sintered glass biorings are available in generic brands very cheaply as another posted commented and they are if not as good probably quite close to biomax in performance. The normal ceramic rings to not offer the same surface area and consequentially have less bio performance.
