Hi guys,

I was feeding my fish a few minutes ago when I realized something I have been noticing for quite some time but disregarding as a coincidence.

I have a 4" Endli in a grow-out with a 4" common pleco as co-bottom-dweller. (Other fish are Datnioides Polota 2.5"-3").

I am feeding them shredded shrimp, Hikari Cichlid Gold (sinking) pellets.

Whenever a couple of pieces of shrimp land on the tank floor, one close to the pleco and the other close to the endli, the endli ignores the piece right in front of him and follows the pleco to snatch the piece the pleco is sucking on..

This has been happening every day for about a week now.

I also realized I have seen my 12" Endli do this exact same thing with 14" FL Gars, Jag (10") and a 5" GT.

Are all Endlis bullies like this or is this just the case with mine?

i've heard they tend to a be a bit more aggressive/brutish but im thinking it probably varies from fish to fish

kinda like how ornates are supposed to be aggressive by bichir standards, but so far mine is incredibly timid (praying it stays that way)

Ive not noticed mine doing this ever, not if they haave some in front of them, they may eat theirs then got to another bit though, also be very very careful with that plec sucking on your bichirs, remove if you see any sign of this.

Haha I always thought endli have the "bad ass" look whenever I look at them at the LFS

I have a 22"er that likes to do this.

She is a seriously docile log 99.9% of the time, but she will go berserk when I put defrosted whole shrimp in.

She is crazy for shrimp, and lets all the other tank mates know this!

just add more food,,,they just like to eat!
