I've had a few. In my experience most are more the law enforcer rather than an aggressive fish (personalities can vary, that however seems to be the norm).
Also as long as size is relatively in proportion I haven't had problems with them eating others as well.

Quite easy to keep and feed. 55+ gallon should be ok when grown, however 75 is imo better due to extra turning width.

Was that the same 5" lmb that you had for one day in your first tank(80 gallon) with only a 3" bichir?

I really don't care if you had other fish as long as you didn't keep them in tanks way too small for them or release them into the wild or euthanize them because you couldn't care for them.

I didn't know I wasn't allowed to conversate with members in threads that aren't theirs, I'll have to find that part in the rules.

As I recall from your last two threads that was your first tank and you only had those two fish. I was taking your opinion with a grain of salt with the way you presented yourself and we know what I'm talking about. I guess I was wrong "Mr. Mgmt101". :p

Back on topic: All fish have different personalities. I've only had a juvenile oscar that only tried to eat anything that fit in his mouth. I used to qt his feeders at one of my friends' houses as he has a red devil and a feeder qt. Believe me anything that fit in his mouth got eaten as soon as it went in the tank, except for an itsy bitsy baby female convict named Pebble. That little con (0.85" ) punked that oscar ( 4-5" ) all day. It was sad and I didn't understand how something so small could get the best of that big baby. It was like a buff midget beating up on a fat kid. I got rid of him because I fell in love with severums and got rid of that con because it was just well way too mean to keep with anything (they were in a 55gallon). The little con went to terrorize my lfs' indoor pond.

My experience with big oscars-I have two friends that I've known forever that have old oscars and I wouldn't say they are aggressive but more predatory. I never witnessed them getting mean towards other fish of the same size or near but I have seen them target smaller fish that they viewed as food and relentlessly chase it down. One of those friends ended up losing both of his oscars because one of them viewed the other as food. The oscar that turned cannibal had the other oscar the same size as it stuck in it's mouth. That was not a good day or a pretty sight.

LOL,that was an eyeful.....Agreed with what was said earlier about oscars having different temperaments depending in the individual...Most of the O's I have had were bullies though. One even took out my first Pirahna.

In my experience Os are less aggressive than people think. More glutton than anything else. But that is why I love Oscars. Personality can be night and day.
