are anchovies safe?

I just got some fresh anchovies that were caught today and was wondering if I can feed them jag and dovii. thanks

They produce lots of oil so I'd imagine you'll end up with a slick on water surface and lots of mess , IMO I'd stick too less oily fish like whitebait , prawns/shrimp , muscles etc , as far as being safe I can't see why not but I'm no expert hopefully someone will chime in ????
Aren't anchovies very salty as well as oily ???
