hi there was just wondering if any one knows or has experience breeding Apistogramma cacatuoides, and how hard they are to breed, its just because i have a chance to buy a pair for £10 pounds and would like to breed them

I bred these for a couple years. They are harder than most cichlids because the are avid egg eaters. Ihad to coax them to breed ina clay pot and then remove it to hatch the eggs. To do this I used a one gallon tank with lots of aeration and an anti-fungal. Then once they hatch I hatched baby brine shrimp to feed them. So they breed easily but rearing the young isn't as easy as some other cichlids

thanks dodgrfreak8, not to easy then i guess i got the pair yesterday so we will see what happens there in a 65l tank with some tetras for the min just till i free my 150l, my dad should have the space so he can take his baby snakehead out of my 150l.

They are somewhat hard to breed. Must separate pair from the eggs once fertilized or they will eat them.
