Are black calvus sensitive to water changes?? (forgot to attach pic in last post)

It's a sad day... my black calvus died today. Only got him 2 weeks ago. Did 25% water change yesterday and he acted funny not swimming much just staying on the ground. He did the same thing when I changed the water last week. All the other fish were ok. Here was a recent pic of him. Rest in peace little buddy! Are black calvus more sensitive to water changes? :(

I would be more likely to question the mbuna as Mike did. I have never had an issue with water changes with my Calvus or Comps.
 
I guess the mbuna could have stressed him, but I never witnessed it. Never saw even one them chasing him. After I changed the water though he would lie down sideways and get up after a few minutes and then lay sideways again. It sucks because he was a nice fish. Won't be getting another one since it seems from everyones comments that they are not compatible.
 
the only thing I tested was the ammonia level. This being new Orleans in the summer time my tap was a but on the warmer side even though the cold water was turned on. Can't say I tested for anything else in my tap. Maybe I should though.

Test your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Compare the temperature of your tank water and tapwater. A few degrees difference will not hurt but a large gap will.
 
Calvus and Comps. should have the water change temps. to be as close to tank temps. They can be temp. sensitive.

How big is the tank? 25% may swing the temps. to much.

Check parms.
 
also if the ph of the tap is very different they can sensitive to severe fluctuations in ph alwas test the nitrite 2 and nitrate 3 as well as ammonia to do a proper diagnoses of parms even if ammonia is 0 the other 2 could be way off.... sorry for the loss :(
 
come to think of it the water change was more 1/3. I didn't use a thermometer to check the temp. I usually just use my finger. The weather had been a lot hotter last couple weeks and the cold water came out very warm. Probably 8-10 degree difference. Never had to deal with thus issue before. thanks for your responses.
