Isla Taboga Panama via Milwaukee
Especially as youngsters, they seem fragile to stress induced disease, by fluctuating temps, or by being kept with other more dominant fish, but I doubt just moving tank to tank would kill them, unless the new tank had colder water (they prefer water temps in the mid 80s).
As adults they are just as tolerant of conditions as any other fish.
They are not community species though, so putting them in a tank with any fish they can't kill usually sends them into a depression, leading to disease.

They are the only cichlid from their natural habitat on Hispaniolla so,
I would never keep them with other cichlids, and always gave the pair, and fry a 100+ gallon tank to themselves.
