Hi,

i recently bought two bristlenose plecos (the lfs suggested i buy two rather then one, so it wouldnt get lonely).
about 2 weeks after owning them the smaller one was found being eaten by the larger one.

would it have attacked it or it just died from some other cause ??

males are territorial and if the tank isn't big enough there will be fighting. what size tank were they in?

I dont know about bristlenoses but in general plecos dont get along,Ive always kept 1 per tank

I bought 7 bristle nose plecos before and the biggest male weeded out the other two males and killed them and that just left him and 4 females. The five I have now all get along great and the only time I see agressine between them is a feeding time.

if they were both males, probably a territorial thing. Make sure there are loads and loads of hiding places for plecos, esp. when theres more than one. how big were they? agressiveness also comes with the age of them
