I was feeding my community tank with some Hikari Sinking Wafers (ones that have a corycat on front), and my CK (~5") ate two of them. They are not a totally meat-based food and the CK has not really been converted to nonlive foods yet. This just a fluke, or do they eat vegetable matter in the wild? Not complaining tho- just glad he's starting to eat pellets/wafers.

I am not 100% sure the CK in question had eaten anything in the last 3 days or so either. He couldnt catch the platties in my tank (that I noticed and belly looked hollow), so could it just be that he was starving?

Hikari Sinking Wafers still have protein supplements in them. If you read the ingredient list, I think Fish Meal and/or Krill Meal are probably in the first 5 (not positive). Most Hikari products are very similar.

it will be fine. Ive had all my clownknives trained to the point where they ate the same foodsticks my arowana did. :)

variance of diet is always good.
