Hey all! I just went to the creek today and caught myself some crayfish, and was wondering if they are totally aquatic or are they subaquatic? Seeing how I had fiddler crabs, and I made them drown (God do I feel bad about that, but I swear that I didnt know!!!!) I thought I would ask before I put any more water into the tank.

Aquatic. They will climb out of the tank and leave though..

so they dont need rocks to climb up on to breathe? I have them in a 10 g hex. It is pretty tall, and dont think they can get out unless they can climb up the glass. I dont have a undergravel filter set up yet, but I do have an airstone sitting down there and my water lever is only about a quarter of the way up

They can climb up airlines. Have a lid? And yes they can breath underwater. What kind is it?

Hell man, I have not a clue as to what kind they are. My hubby and I caught them in a creek. they are brownish colored, and on the tips of their claws they are painted red yellow and black. Yeah I have a lid. haha, and a air line. going to close it now. there was a post on here somewhere where a guy said he had one get out and it crawed across his foot while he was takin a wizz, and it spooked him so bad he whizzed on the wall. I am soooooo straight with that, seein how I got 3 boys.....no critters gettin out on me! Thanks for the info!:D
