I have a datnoid and I'm just wondering if they are better kept in groups. I had three but i lost one to ich back in october and i lost the other one a couple weeks ago from his fins bring nipped too much. The one i have now is about 2" and hes in a 180 gallon tank. Ive had the one i have now since last august and ive notixed no growth and I'm just wondering if He would be better if there were a group of them. Hes a pig and hes just not growing. If they do better in groups how many should be kept together? Any help is appreciated.

I have a dats by himself in a 150. Their aggression start to show at around 8". I think they are better in a group but one is ok too.

Datnoids are just very slow growers. I've grown babies to 5" in about 6 months with pellets and lots of water changes but has only grown 2" in past 5 months

Get them on pellets and massivore. They grow faster. I have my 4 dats with some geos and doing just fine. Just my ngt is sorta aggressive at time. Yeah they do have pretty slow grow rate.
