dels are probably the SECOND most active bichir after senegals but still spend most of thier time lounging on the bottom (or buried in the case of mine).

Polli Palmas and senegalus are the two most active bichir. I consider delhezi a semi active bichir.

I would consider P. E. congicus the second most active bichir behind the senegal. Mine swims all day...

Dels are one of the lazier species.

my senegalus is by far my most active, although my ornate has been more active ever since he floated the piece of pipe he loves to hide in. Now he swims out to look around and then it takes him a while to get back into the pipe because he is so fat. My del hides about as much as my ornate.
