I have heard over the last few years that they are apparently much less aggressive etc and just kinda territorial. so would it be okay to keep one in say a peaceful community with other territorial cichlids like Guinacara sp. and shoaling fish like black skirts ?

I`m not exactly jumping out to buy one but I`m looking to add something with some good color to my 120 that i started up recently and I was wondering if an EBJD would be a good addition?

let me know what your experience with this fish is!

stock is

x2 baby cigar sharks
x2 Labeo boga
x7 black skirt albinos
x1 trinidad pleco
x2 guinacara stergiosi

thanks in advance guys

They are for sure more chill then a normal Jack. I actually had both in a tank with each other. Only issue with the EBJD is they commonly have a weak immune system and cant handle stress well.

They are much more peacefull than the regular jds, they also grow allot slower.

I'm no expert but in the past year I have bought and/or resold 28 EBJD. ( I currently have 8 total and about 15 6 week old fry.) I've also read many state they were weaker fry. This statement is 100% correct. I have 80 or so fry with about 15 or 20 EBJD rest are BGJD or reg JD. Fry is by BGJD x BGJD. After about 3 weeks old I could start telling the EBJD from the others by their color. I have them all in a 40 breeder with a sponge filter and a marineland penguin 350 with the intake wraped with blue bond filter material to slow flow down and from sucking up babies. At 5 weeks the green jacks are much more active and most of the blues stay on the bottom and are very week. I feed the live BBS and use a turkey baster so I can get the food to the weaker blues. Today Ive lost a couple of the weaker ones and am fixing to take all the blues out and put them in a 10 gallon by themselves. Now back to the related info to the thread topic. They are defiantly more laid back than regular jacks. Festaedan they are much slower growing. Outside of the fry Ive not lost any yet since Ive starting keeping them.
