Are these guys difficult to keep? I read a bunch of complaints about them and wanted to know from personal experience....thanks!

I had one gt sick and it was tough treating. I've heard other people having trouble treating as well the store gave a refund and instead I just bough a bunch of other stuff. The guy said since I had the fish for so long no refund but since ok practically putting his kids thru college with my spending habits there. good luck man

I had mine for several months if u keep up on water changes u shouldn't have any problems. Wait till they are about 3 inches before mixing with others also

If you get some quality ones you shouldnt run into too many problems. But some will die at random for no reason.

My first two died within two months. My second two thrived till 6" then i got rid of cuz werent good breeders, then my third attempt is ongoing purchased 5 and I am down to three that seem to be doing well for the most part.

Not really, just has to have good tank mades. Tank large enaugh for him and good filteration.

Our LFS has a bunch in for like 50.00 and I am hesitant to try em...seems like a pretty average price for them though.....I've seen em for 75 in Minneapolis.....but boy if you guys have had a bunch at a time doesn't that get pricey?

never had 1 but they are still jd's just a different line breed color. jd's are very hardy fish easy to keep i would not see any trouble keeping 1.

i wouldnt say hard to keep pursay.. but they are deff known for just dieng out of nowhere ,which even me myself can agree with.......

Just as long as you keep up with your water changes you should be fine. For the smaller ones you should switch their diet back and fourth. Dont feed them only high protein foods, like worms all the time. Switch it up with chopped peas, or cucumbers. Alot of times the smaller ones die due to bloating.

:iagree:

I think from my experience you need to have patience while growing them.. Some grow quick.. Most grow not so quick.. And the Ugly beaknose ones tend to be the stronger blues unfortunately :(
