Am newbie to flowerhorn keeping...just around 4 months experience.Got a white one with some black shades, he had Hexamita upon arrival, now all cured and growing fast. Was wondering whether these faders are considered inferior to, say, a ZZLH, or are the faders a completely different strain with their own status?I got this notion from an LFS guy who said they are cheap cross breed of LH with midas and the like, but mine got decent kok though the black colors are not completely fading.

Would love to acquire few more faders, but would prefer to clear this doubt before i did.

Regards

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I personally like faders, with others I prefer a heavy script or none at all, I prefer a proportional Kok etc

All FH's are unique, unless you get a adult FH, you never really know what you'll get... I like that!

Most of the faders I have seen are ZZ faders, some fade to pink and yellow with patterns and others fade to a bland color. For me, the body structure, personality, and color, play into whether I like a fish. Your fish has a nice body but isn't as colorful as I'd prefer - however - if he was for sale and he has good personality, I'd probably pick him up anyhow, he's a nice looking fish even without the color. If you have plans to breed him, go back with a 'normal' that is heavily marked. I just skimmed Aquabid for a couple examples I like.
