crossed her with my male blackbelt. seemed 2/3 of the eggs turned white in 2 days but then the male ate the rest when i turned the lights off. the female was guarding them with the lights on but as soon as i turn him off he would go over and i would hear crunch...him biting at the rock.

no most tend to be fertile. its always a possibility but with this hybrid it tends to be the males that are infertile. have you spawned them before. it seems like a case of "we are new to this parenting thing"

She should be very fertile I bet the male just didn't fertilize them. Did you see his tube out and swimming over and fanning them? Otherwise I'd say try it again you should have some awesome kamfas.

his tube was never extended. i did see him fan them one time though. he just wasnt 100% interested in them to be honest. i had cichlids breed before. i read that blackbelts are hard to get to breed even with their own kind. hes very passive and shes the fiesty one.
