are fiddler crabs brackish?

Some fiddler species are saltwater, others are brackish. I believe the common pet trade species are brackish. They are usually kept in freshwater at the stores, so adjust them to your tank's salinity slowly and don't be surprised if the time they have spent in freshwater leaves them sickly. Get them the day the store gets them if possible.
They live in the banks of tidal lagoons and estuaries here in Florida. The salinities that I have measured are near full marine but are still considered brackish. Hope this helps.
