I have 2 aros, a 18" greenie and a 16" jar in my monster tank. Usually 2 aros in a tank is a bad idea and 1 gets killed. So far I haven't had any problems with mine (over a month together).

The only time there are any problems is when I off the pump at feeding time. The greenie will eat some food and then start chasing the jar around. I don't wanna turn the pump on before all the food is finished, but I also don't want the jar to get hurt...

Is this normal and is there any way I can stop/reduce it?

Thanks!

it's probably more to do with feeding time than it is the pump.

My aros mood never changes when I shut the pump off.
It's not a green or a jar though.

Sounds to me like survival of the fittest, other words just fighting over food. I doubt it has anything to do with your pump being on or off.

I don't think that's it because I've never seen the greenie get excited or aggressive about food. He eats very slowly and calmly and there is still food around when he starts getting mad.

The only time I've seen him swim fast is when he's chasing the jar..

wow! and i thought it wud be the jardini that will be kicking ur green's ass

The greenie is only a little longer, but much broader than the jar. He easily weighs double what the jar does. It's not a contest really, the jar just swims like hell to keep out of the greenie's way when he's getting chased ... so far he hasn't been caught.

P.s. the jar is much faster and more agile, so I don't think anything too serious could happen.

Here's a pic of them with my tem..
