Are fish that are kept alone more aggressive??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Generally--a cichlid that is kept alone becomes territorial and more aggressive, yes. & thats also why some tend to try and attack outside the tank, since there is no interaction from the inside.

If they are alone what will the have to be agressive towards? ;)

For me, yes. If I try putting my 2 convict males in the same tank, even if it's 75 gallons with just the 2 of them and plenty of rocks, logs, and plants they go at it.

See that's my logic there's no other fish to be aggressive to so how do you really know what's its capable of?! But i see videos and hear story's of crazy fish by themselves

my midevil lives alone because he is a murderer but he is a pussy cat to me , i put my hands in he just goes about his business, i toss a fish in , within 30 min it is half eaten or he forces them out of the tank, i have temp tried to house things with him and he will literally run it out of the tank,
doesnt allow plecos either, no snails NOTHING but to me he is very chill.. you can pet him but i dont i cant imagine it is good for there slimecoat
