Ive noticed my bonsai Bolo gets very upset at any changes in the tank. I added a second powerhead sponge to boost bio filtration until I get my 2017 canister and get rid of the two HOBs, and he hates it, and has turned on his parrot girlfriend. She bumped her nose running away, and she had nowhere good to hide so I gave her a log and she is cowering in there. She has now fled the log and is hiding atop the powerhead while he stalks the log...she doesnt know shes safe in there yet. But Bolo just looks furious, and hes gotten mad after gravel vacuuming as well.

I think massivore is a factor, all my fish got more aggressive since being on it the last two weeks. He has never been this aggressive, nor have my other fh and jaguar.

Hes such a dumbass, hes still stalking the empty log while she cowers up above...I might have to get a second log, mor $$ to spend on fish drama, what a clusterjam.

The mood of the fish has no effect with the type of food you use(maybe a little - but I highly doubt that massivore is the cause here). But it will effect as your fish grows, your water quality, your water temperature, and definitely its environment/surrounding(gravels, bare tank, decor, pump or any changes of look in their home).
All I can say is, flowerhorn is one of the moodiest fish I've ever dealt with. And I find that extremely interesting and challenging...which makes the hobby even better and funner. :D
