Are freshwater monsters wild caught ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they are both farm raised and wild caught. Normally wild caught specimens demand a higher price than their farm bred contemporaries.

and not all marine fish are wild caught nowadays ^^

i saw a black durgon triggerfish at my LFS and simply fell in love. I've always loved marine fish and their spectacular colours but the reason I didn't setup a marine tank was that corals are ripped and plundered from the sea and the fragile coral reef systems are destroyed by people cathcing fish and corals for aquarium trade.

so when i saw the trigger i thought why cant i just keep it in a fish only marine tank or may be with artificial decor items ?
LFS told me that the trigger like most other marine fish are wild caught. can u guys tell me which marine fish are actually bred in captivity (anywhere for that matter) so i can get over my dilemma. thanks
