i was getting my hotwater heater replaced today, and the plumber left the door open the whole time to drain the old one. any way..he let in like 25-35 common house flys..i was pee'd off at first. but then i stared to kill them and thought id try to feed some to my fish...they loved them! i never seen them go that crazy for food. even worse than blood worms. any way i was thinking about setting up a fly trap out side to catch them and feed them to my fish. will this be a good part to their diet or is there side effects to feeding live flys?? i figured they eat them in the wild anyway...is this a good idea??? fish are sevs and uaru, in a 135gal. oh...and the flys are canadian:ROFL: ...if that makes a diff.. doubt it

I wouldn't use a sticky fly trap, but feeding flies is fine.

Be careful if anybody sprays for bugs nearby...otherwise they're fine. I used to feed my O's crickets & grasshoppers all the time.
