i was thinking of keeping a west african lung in my 100g outdoor pond.
i dont have a cover or plan on putting one on it, so if they jump i will
probably not keep one. any info. or suggestions are welcome.

thanks in advance :)

Small lungfish about 12-15 inches are able to jump. However once they grown some weight, they become heavy and will only crawl out if they want to. If they feel comfortable in that pond they it should not be a problem. I used to have a 20" WAL in a goldfish pond and the pond was only 4 feet by 4 feet and 1.5 feet deep. No cover what so ever. the lungfish just stayed there and not even bothering the goldfish. It will even wait for it's food to drop and catch it.

yes, they jump.

my victorian jumps each time i change water for him.
cover is a must for lung; though they could survive over water for sometimes, what if we oversleep one day and find the lung dried and dead on the ground? it's not worth it...
