Does anyone know if these magnetic reptile caves are safe for fish? I've got one lying around and thought it might be a nice way to view some of my small hiders.

doubt it would be an issue. powerheads have magnets, and most filteration in some form or fashion utilizes magnets. The only worry I'de have is if the paint is safe.

I was more worried about the materials than the magnets. It just looks like molded plastic. I just figured someone may have tried it before and could shed some light.

i haven't used any of the magnetic caves but i have used the normal caves made by the same company and they are aquarium safe

I have the worst camera in the world :(, but it looks like the little striped raphael is enjoying the cave.

Cool. Keep us posted if it works well. I'm looking to add a cave of some sort and notices some nice looking reptile ones.

So far it seems fine, fish are normal and water is testing ok. It is hollow, but mine had a small hole so it was able to fill with water. The only problem I have seen with it is that it needs something sitting behind it to keep it pressed against the glass or it will move around a little when putting the front magnetic piece back on. It could be a risk of crushing the fish if it decides to swim out if its not anchored well when you put the front back on.
