I have three mahseers about 6" growing out in a 125 gallon along with 6 peacock bass around 2" each and one comet goldfish about 3". I missed a day of feeding the mahseers as I ran out of frozen shrimp and the next day the comet goldfish had both eyes missing. I never had issues with peacock bass eating eyes but I've had an african arowana in a community tank lose an eye before but wasn't sure which fish did it, that same tank had mahseer as well. Not sure if mahseer are known to eat eyes as there isn't much info on them but now I am worried about adding them to my main tank once they grow as I do not want my bigger fish to lose eyes.
