Someone told me that most Thai silk males are infertile. This person has had hybrids for a long time now. And is very knowlegable. But I would like a 2nd opinion from the hybrid community. As I am still a newbie to hybrids, so I still got a lot to learn. Thanks guys.

alot of male hybrids are infertile. there is a high chance that a male thai silk would be infertile. on the scale of infertility in comparison to other hybrids, silks actually have a high percentage of fertile males. it shouldn't be too hard to find one.

Thanks that made me feel a little better. I kinda thought the same thing too, because on the flowerhorn forums alot people use thai silk/ titanium flowerhorn males for breeding projects. Amd have had quite some sucess. Anybody else?

I dont think its hard to find a fertile male thai silk. A partner got a male about 3" and he has successfully spawned already.

i think about 20% of male TS's are infertile

Thai Silk males are almost always fertile IME. Owned 4 and all of them were able to produce some fry. Some more than the others but still fertile nonetheless.
