Since nobody answered my last question I posted,
lets try this one, How do i know if my newly hatched babies
are getting food?

I guess if they stay alive lol. With the convict fry Ive had in the past, I couldnt really "see" them eating, but they stayed alive and kept growing so they obviously ate. I just crushed up a bunch of pellets ,flake ,whatever, into a fine powder then mixed with a little tank water and squirted it out with a syrenge over the fry...worked for me. Hope this helps, sorry you didnt get any replys before.

the fry eat little critters in the water and sometimes the parents crush up flakes for them to eat

I put Hikari 'First Bites' and BBS in a little tank water then put that in the tank. I have Endlers, fry and mothers in the same tank and the fry start feeding almost immediately, although they don't 'hunt' the food, rather just grab whatever drifts their way, within a couple of days they join in with the crowd!
I realise that as livebearers the Endler fry are larger than egg layers fry, but all fry have the instinct to feed, so if the food is avalable they will eat it.

With my angelfish fry I can tell they are feeding becuase there bellies turn the color of the food that I'm feeding them. If it's hikari first bites there bellies turn green/grey.
