Are my convicts breeding?

Saw this today
Never noticed earlier got them for 1-1.5 mnths i guess
Is a pair (make and female) not sure paired or sum
Her belly is swollen both are digging rearranging the tank and tube of female is quite out ig
Are they gonna breed if yes when?

if there male and female. they are going to breed. convicts will breed in a puddle of spit. its just a matter of when.

If you see a breeding tube and they’re cleaning a spot they will probably spawn In the next day or couple days.
It’s a joke among people who have kept convicts: it’s and instant fish just get a pair and add water that’s usually all it takes for convicts to spawn.

My concern being there is a turtle with them in this tank
It is a 90 gal housing the only pair and a res turt

Here’s a learning experience coming I feel. Just how strongly a pair of convicts can and do defend a nest and young. You’d be suprised. I know many many (~30) years ago my resident red bellied piranha trio were.
That tank turned into a convict only tank.

i had to take the convicts out of my piraya tank after breeding were bullying my p's - had put the cons in for dither / clean up crew
