are my fish really this picky?

i have a kinda odd question.
im feeding two sen. bichirs and bullhead catfish. i feed them prepackaged frozen shrimp and tilapia (thawed before feeding)

but

if i decide to mix it up a bit and buy FRESH from the store, even if i ask for the freshest they have... my fish wont touch it... but got crazy for the prepackaged stuff???

can you think of any reason for this? or should i just stop trying to "spoil" my fish...

My fish sometimes wont eat if I change there food up. I don't give them fresh, but when I make a new batch of frozen food it almost always look a little different then before. My fish avoid it for a while until they get used to it. I guess it depends how badly you want them to eat the fresh fish. Keep trying.
