Are my loaches Fighting, Breeding or Playing?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They're sparring against each other. My clown loaches would do that for 30 minutes. They're too young to breed and breeding them in tanks is next to impossible.

I have only had my CL for a week and they are fighting already. I have read that this is normal as they fight for there place in the hierachy.

How many do you have, total? Are those the largest ones? I've had 4 in a 90gal for 3 years and the two largest get into "quarrels"... and fade out color. Just bickering because the largest is in charge of the clan and is usually a female by nature...very slow growing and won't breed in aquariums...on fish farms they don't breed until at least 8" in length...that takes a few years. Just let them do their thing. they seem to work it out.
