I noticed today that my male senegal(4-5") was chasing the female(8-9") round the tank.. And biting her front fins and nibbling her head.. rubbing his body against her and rubbing their private parts together...and it looked like they were doing it..:screwy:

Any input ?

He's trying to breed its very common behavior seen in inmature males-Anne

sounds like it. but the male is still too small, so sounds like its practicing :D one of the difficulty things about bichir breeding is that oftentimes the female isn't interested.

Yeah my male senegal has been trying to woo my female albino senegal off and on for some time now. He gets close to her and starts this twitching thing with his head and she just ignores him. When she swims away he chases her around the tank for a little while, then gives up.

Could be promising in the future.
