I want to drop a couple in my snail tank, think it will be a success?

I attribute my pre-failure to your bad attitude. LOL

The problem is mystery snails are any one of a dozen or so species some of which lay eggs above the waterline so first you gotta figure out which snails you have.

Mystery snails (particularly the yellow black or white ones) are usually Bridgesii (THink I spelled that right) or "brigs". If you have a male and female and take decent care of them they will breed easily. Mine were laying eggs once a week (every tuesday) for a month before I started feeding less to keep them from making so many babies.

Here's a pic of my female snail laying eggs (taken yesterday):

See applesnail.net for as much info as you could ever want to know.

With apple snails you have a few easy steps for breeding. You need a male and a female. They are not asexual like other snails. leave an inch or two of tank above the waterline as they lay eggs out of the water. keep the temp around 80 i kept mine at 82. they will eat, grow and breed more rapidly. feed them well. they breed when the temp goes up, and food is more availible. mine ate, frozen green peas, carrots, cucumber, algae pellets and live plants. keep a lid on the tank to save moisture so the eggs don't dry up. if you do all of this, the eggs will hatch in 2-3 weeks.

Thats an eccellent pic! and to regards to their breeding... its a MYSTERY.
Sorry i couldnt contain myself, i know i need to get out more.
