tarpon get to like 6ft+ dont they? you'll need to speak to one of the guys in the shark/ray forum to get an idea of tank sizes. which will need to be collosal.
some batfish live in brackish for the early stages of their lives... but im not sure if that applies to all species of batfish. if you google the name (preferably the latin name) you'll get some help.
