The hubby and I recently set up a nice little cichlid tank, complete with a beautiful pair of Species 44, which we appropriately named Bonnie and Clyde. Well, today they both seem a little funny and since I've never seen a pair breed, i'm wondering if thats what it could be...Clyde seems to be displaying himself to her alot and is keeping a really close watch on her. Bonnie seems pretty submissive and afraid to move when he's around, if she does move, he chases her around the whole tank. He's a real handsome fellow, so I don't blame her for falling for his moves, but they seem young to me...how old is the average cichlid when they start to breed?? I've included some pics to show the behaviour I'm talking about....any advice would be appreciated!!!

thanks!! they really are a beautiful couple!!!
they have been courting all day. its fun to watch Clyde do his little shimmy with his colours all aglow!! i'm hoping the other few in the tank leave Bonnie alone....all our cichlids are still small, mostly even in size and we haven't had an aggression issues thusfar...hopefully that lucks stays with us!

they'll enhance in color n clear gravel or spray driftwood really cool to watch I've had fry n babies grow up really cool part of the hobby
