ive been sick for the past couple days and was wondering...can my pets (dog, lizard and fish) catch whatever ive got?

i wash my hands with antibacterial soap (if im sick or not) before and after handling food, pets food, using restroom etc. but is that enough? so basically what i'm asking is...are our pets safe from our colds and flu's? (or any other deseases?)

i've never gotten my dog or cat sick that i know of

ive never gotten an animal/reptile / fish sick before. i would think that the answer is no, but im not positive on that one... any doctors out there? :)

I used to use anti-bac soap, from my understanding it actually is totally ineffective in soap. Your better off just using a soft soap and water at 110 degrees plus. I do use hand sanitizer when I'm unable to wash my hands....FYI All these anti-bac products kind of concern me, I think we could just more resitant bacterium....

animals dont catch human sickness........animals dont get a cold or flu.........normally when something is wrong with them it is from an infection. not a virus.

Most human diseases are not cross transmitable, a few are, swine flu by people and pigs, avian flu and parrot fever by birds and people, sleeping sickness by cattle and people, salmonella by turtles and peoplse, fish tubercullosis and phiesteria by fish and us, the common cold by hamsters and children, bubonic plague by most mammals, anthrax by most mammals and some birds. So the answer to your question is..., MAYBE.
