Are Polypterus cannibalistic

So right now i just noticed my ornate bichir has gone missing..The little guy could'nt have jump because the tanks is sealed.Tankmates are one Endiclheri and 1 firemouth.i got the ornate and endi both at the same size
but the endi got bigger in two weeeks.the endi has a little bulge in his gut.i feed the bichirs blackworms,bloodworms,guppys,and crushed pellets.

ive heard that when they're born, even the fry are cannibalistic to each other

Thats crazy but i got a pic of the fat endi.
What surpises me most is how fast thier growth rate it mind blowing.

My smallest Bichir when it was around 6" got bit on a lot. Almost had both his pictorial fins tore off. big chunks of fins bitten off tail and dorsal areas. Now mostly completely healed and has gotten bigger almost 12" but still the smallest in the heard doesn't get picked on any more.

I think the term should be "opportunistic". They don't really like munching down on other bichirs because the long shape of the body make it hard to swallow. But when they are hungry, anything goes.

Any type of fish would eat anything edible when they have the change and if they are extremely hungry.
