So right now i just noticed my ornate bichir has gone missing..The little guy could'nt have jump because the tanks is sealed.Tankmates are one Endiclheri and 1 firemouth.i got the ornate and endi both at the same size
but the endi got bigger in two weeeks.:cry:the endi has a little bulge in his gut.i feed the bichirs blackworms, bloodworms, guppys, and crushed pellets.

my endli ate my african arowana........so im assuming yes

they are very much cannibalistic. sorry for your loss

ive heard that when they're born, even the fry are cannibalistic to each other

I think the term should be "opportunistic". They don't really like munching down on other bichirs because the long shape of the body make it hard to swallow. But when they are hungry, anything goes.

WOW that sucks. It's like ur endli ate a large mound of cash!

Any type of fish would eat anything edible when they have the change and if they are extremely hungry.
