I HAVE OWNED ALOT OF PIRanhas in my day , but never had a sanchezi, i was thinking about getting one, but wanted to know if the purple stays throughout adult hood and also is this an active P:headbang2

I've never really seen a purple one. The ones they call purple have a more violet sheen to their red, but i don't know what happens to the color in adulthood.

saw on at AS the other day and for a second I thought it's a blue diamond rhom but it's a purple sanchezi. very cool looking fish

Never owned one butI hear they aren't too active. And if the one you saw was around 6" its most likely fully grown and would keep its color.

thanks i just brought one from bong and pedro from aquascape

cool, hope you will like it. post some pics when you get it.

Most single species arent active like lets say a dorado, pygo's move the most. But you cant beat the purple colors with the red coat , i will post pics as soon as I get him acclimated, he's around 4'' so will see:popcorn:

That's what I thought too but based on what I have seen on my spy cam, my rhom is pretty active when I'm not around the tank.

used to have 3, i attempted to co-hab them. worked well for about 5 months then the fin nipping started.
the personality of every piranha will be different.
