Okay, i asked this question in the eel section, but then got thinking i might as well ask a more general question which is, are Sandworms (the type for fishing) safe to feed freshwater fish?

Most importantly i need to know if they are safe for FW Spiny Eels (since i'm asking on behalf of an LFS owner i know), but also curious if you could feed them to other large freshwater predatory fish?

Lastly, if it is safe, is there anything you need to do prior to feeding it to your fish, or can you just feed them as is? i.e. no need to freeze before feeding to kill parasites?

Did a google search for sandworm, this is what I found. If you meant like night crawlers or leaf worms, they are fine, and a good source of protein.

^ No they aren't night crawlers, can't get them here unfortunately...

Here is a pic of what i'm talking about... its a type of worm people use for fishing, although i think its also a saltwater species, which is why my friend needs to know if its safe or not...
