I recently bought a tin of sardines for my fish to eat. I didnt really think anything of it. I got the ones that are in water, not mustard sauce or anything. On the ingredients though, it says that there is salt in them. Is it ok to feed these to my freshwater fish?
I have never eaten sardines before, is it ok to feed to my fish?

sardines are a canned good, and as such are packed with preservities, and worse yet loaded with sodium...

Yeah it's a big no'er on that one..

Even fresh-frozen sardines are not a good thing to feed your to FW fish. These fish contain huge amounts of oil and bile that can foul a tank quickly. Sporadic feedings in a SW tank are acceptable provided the system has an efficient protein skimmer.

if you've already fed them to your fish i would highly suggest a water change!

I have not fed them to my fish. I was a little aprehensive about feeding them the sardines from the start and you guys just comfirmed my fears. Thanks for the info. maybe my cat will eat them.
