Hello--

I have a tank mix of mbuna and peacocks. One of my blue peacocks is aggressive, and I have a banga that holds his own too.

A couple of weeks ago, I introduced a male German Red into the tank and he was getting picked on a lot and not defending himself at all. In fact, some of the small female peacocks were picking on him too.:irked:

I know how to introduce a new fish to a tank, and I know almost every fish is different, but I am heading over to a fish store I haven't been to before that has an nice array of peacocks and I just would like to get one(s) that tend to be a little more aggressive. Can you tell me if Ruby Reds or Benshis tend to be aggressive or passive as far as peacocks go? Any other brightly color peacocks that are aggressive?

BTW--I ended up returning the German red before he got beat up.

Any help is appreciated!

OB peacocks should be a good bet. They are part mbuna.

If you want a aggressive peacock than go with the Eureka Red and make sure he is the same size of your other peacocks. In the morning all your other peacocks will probably have no fins or floating. I believe the are the MOST aggressive of all the peacocks.
