I want to know if there are any "local" fish suppliers online for Canada. I know that alot of the suppliers here are American but I would like something a little closer to home.

Hey 12 Volt Man, you from Montreal? I read on another thread that you worked at a fish store which had a 1200g shard tank with acrylic panels...right away I thought of Big Al's in Pointe-Claire. Am I mistaken?

Just curious, nice to see neighbors on here...i'm on the South Shore of Montreal.

MDH I tried Below Water before, and had a very hard time getting any response whatsoever. I think like 2 weeks later I got a reply saying "Go to the Nature store I am one of their supplier and you can get my fish there"...or something in the lines of. So I wouldn't count on them.

I will definitely check out Mirdo though!!

I usually order my oddballs through Aqua Tropicale on Decarie Blvd in Montreal. That's where I got my Mbu puffer from, he specialed ordered it for me. But then you'd have to come pick it up here, so might not be what you're looking for.

Anyways, good luck in your research!

Hey,

I live on the South Shore of Montreal, Greenfield park specifically. I didn't think there were any other people on MFK that lived in Quebec, much less on the south shore.

You can order oddballs from Aqua Tropical? Their fish are always so sick nowadays... at least the past few times I've gone there. It doesn't help that they label their 1 inch senegals as ornates and sell them for 50$. Do you know anywhere where I can find some polypterus delhelzi?

Hey nice meetin you, i'm from Sainte-Martine. There are a few other Quebecois on here, but we're definitely a minority hehe.

True that Aqua-Tropicale can't take care of any fish whatsoever...this is why I ordered my Mbu through them, but picked it up at the airport myself. This way i'm sure they don't have anything to do with the fish ;)

I saw some Delhelzi at Nature in Lasalle, on Newman blvd. Check their website if you want the address. My memory sucks, but I'm 90% sure to have seen a bunch of them in a tank there, a week ago. There was quite a few in that tank, like 20+ babies, and I trust that store their fishes are always well taken care of. Worth having a look, just a 20 minute drive from your place!

Hope you find some!

Oh forgot to mention, if you want to special order from aqua-tropicale, then speak to Michael, one of the managers there. But again, I strongly suggest you pick up the fish in it's shipping box...

Cheers!
Steph.
