If you have got a loake out there with them in High water and air temperatures force big pike into deep water where they rest for long periods, feeding spells are often short around first and last light. they do very well in cold water.

Yes there are Muskies and Pikes in Cali but they are illegal to posses and if you catch one DF&G says to kill them instantly.
