Are these branches safe for my tank?

Found these in my backyard. Would they be safe for my tank once I clean them?

The only trees in my backyard are dogwood and some kind of oak

If on the ground for over a season yes.
If just snapped off by the wind and still fresh
I personally wouldn't use in the aquarium at this time.
Oak tree branches definitely ok to use.

Yes, they have both been on the ground quite some time. I've been looking for branches like these for my aquascape

I googled Dogwood tree. It's hardwood so it should be ok to use.
